Botox® is natural purified protein, an injectable substance that is a medical approved form of the botulinum toxin A. Botox® has been used for years to treat muscle spasms, and has recently come into favour for creating a more youthful rested look.

A muscle relaxant is injected directly into the wrinkles, temporarily relaxing the facial muscles and preventing the formation of wrinkles and softening existing lines. In very low doses it relaxes the overactive muscles by blocking the nerve impulses that trigger wrinkle-causing muscle contractions. Treatment is simple and non-surgical and smoothes the deep persistent skin lines that have developed over time. It usually takes between 48 hours and five days to see the result. The greatest effect is seen at 1-3 weeks.

To assess your muscle movement you will be asked to frown or smile.This will determine where to administer the injections to achieve the best results.
